The mode of inside maintenance depends on the way the converter is operated. In the case of preventive gunning maintenance, gunning takes place continuously over the complete circle achieving the highest possible resistance to wearing. The gunning mixes for this application are designed to be low-cost, taking into account the high rate of consumption. In addition, WEERULIN also makes mixes based on highest quality magnesia, which are used in partial maintenance towards the end of the converter circle. This helps keep down early wear of the trunnions effectively, as with other highly impacted areas.

Tapping Maintenance

For filling the hollow space between the walling and the runner, WEERULIN offers a special, fusible highly magnesitic filling mix. The lifetime of the FOR OXTOR 315 I maintenance mix is perfectly adapted to the life of the built-in elements in the tapping area. The product provides easy processing and guarantees tapping safety for the whole converter cycle.
